2009 was a very productive and aggressive year for us in regards to training, and we are looking forward to continuing that into 2010. The first two weeks of drill have been geared towards reviewing all aspects of our firefighting operations in preparation for the yearly performance evaluations. The performance evaluations will be given to every firefighter and will ensure that the firefighter is proficient in SCBA operations, handline operations, ladders, power tools, and safety. An additional evaluation will be given to all vehicle operators as well. The company is also looking forward to participating in the many classes that are being offered this year at the Delaware County Training Center, as well as several other facilities. So look for a WHOLE LOT of training stories on the website this year, because if this year is anything like last year, we won’t have a lot of fires to write about.
